Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is often another way of saying you’ve got money you want to get rid of, quickly! At CBW Group we’ve made it a bit of a mission to demystify SEO, to set out clearly what is achievable and what is frankly just fantasy.
Broadly speaking there are three ways that SEO can work, these are ‘Pay Per Click’, On Page SEO and Off Page SEO. Let me explain a little about each one, how CBW Group uses them and what you can expect to achieve...
Before we get too far in, let’s just get right back to basics and explain what is meant by the terms ‘sponsored links section’, ‘google local business centre listings’ and ‘natural search listings’.

SEO Tips and Hints
Do's
- Do ask yourself if your site and information posted really helps users.
- Do only use relevant keywords
- If using affiliate programmes provide unique and relevant content that gives the user a reason to visit the site first e.g. product reviews or comparisons. Avoid little or no original content
Dont's
- Don’t deceive users by presenting different content to search engines than you display to users
- Don’t use tricks to improve search engine rankings
- Don’t participate in link schemes for the sole purpose of improving search engine rankings i.e. this should only be done for the genuine benefit of the website visitor
- Don’t use hidden text or links, cloaking or sneaky redirects
- Don’t send automated queries to Google
- Don’t create multiple pages or sub-domains with substantially duplicate content.
- Avoid ‘Doorway Pages’ (poor quality pages written for specific keywords)
